The Grand Défi presents itself as an adventure park that offers a multitude of fun activities for the whole family. Located in Saint-Julien-des-Landes, in Vendée, this park is famous for its treetop adventure course, which is the largest in the world. For all ages, it is made up of 38 courses of 5 different levels:
- Pitchouns: from 2 years old, made up of 8 yellow courses and includes sleds, rope bridges and zip lines.
- Families: from 6 years old, made up of 10 green courses and has 4 zip lines.
- Adventures: from 9 years old, made up of 8 blue courses, located in the treetops and above the ponds.
- Athletes: from 12 years old, made up of 5 red courses, intended for fans of extreme sensations.
- Challenge: from 14 years old, consisting of 3 black courses, designed for those who are not afraid of heights.
The Grand Défi, in Vendée, is essentially distinguished by its 30 mega-zip lines. Some are located above the pond, while others are based at water level. So, arriving at full speed and brushing against the water is a magical experience that you absolutely must do. With 8 courses for 2-5 year olds, the little ones can enjoy it.
Activities available in Le Grand Défi Park
The Grand Défi offers you 8 activities in addition to the treetop adventure park.
The Galactic Laser: playable in 2 teams, this laser game is played outdoors, and pits humans against aliens.
Paintball: this activity is played on 5 different fields. Accessible from 6 years old, paintball offers different equipment, depending on the age of the participants.
The Explor’games: playable outdoors, this escape game offers you 2 scenarios, namely “the silence of the octopus” and “the prophecy of the forest”.
The Pony Ride: designed for ages 2 and up, this activity is very popular with children.
Le Monde de Sylvain: this is an educational orientation course which gives you the opportunity to discover the fauna and flora of the park.
It is also possible to find 7 other orientation courses which are divided into 4 levels.
The Quick Jump: this is quite simply a jump into the void, and it is reserved for thrill-seekers.
DiscGolf: this original activity is played on an 18-hole course. Instead of the ball, you will have to play with a disc.
In addition to these 8 activities, you can walk in the park, 20 hectares are at your disposal.

Timetables and prices
The prices offered by the park are estimated between 6.50 euros and 50 euros, and vary depending on the activities.
packs depending on the activities you want to do are available. The pack with the most activities (Liberty Pack for 3 activities of your choice) costs 33 euros for ages 10 and under and 43 euros for ages 11 and up. Of course the prices are decreasing if you want to do less.
Regarding schedules, the park is open depending on the activities and the period. During the summer season, the park is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays in August (9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and in July), but these hours may change from time to time.
The Grand Défi is located a few kilometers from camping Les Dunes in Brétignolles-sur-Mer. On average, it only takes 15 minutes to get to the venue.
